About

What is Aperitweat?
It’s an Aperitivo for Twitter friends. Invite your friends for Aperitweat when you want to chat in an informal environment drink and eat, all in one place.

Where did the idea come from?

Aperitivo is an Italian way of socialising in the evening after work, especially in Milan. It’s defined as a pre-dinner drink, usually served from 7-9pm,  that’s meant to “open” the palate and allow you to socialize, relax, and nibble as dinner approaches or which might even be overlooked altogether.
It is also known as happy hour, but it is rather different from what we’re use to in London.
With your aperitivos you get free food: olives and potato chips are the classic offering, though some get very elaborate with fresh pizza, fruit salads, roast, hot pasta, cold cuts like prosciutto and bresaola, fresh savory pastries and even fresh mozzarella in some bars!

Who had the idea?
The idea comes from a bunch of Italians (by passport or not) who met through twitter and decided to share it with their tweeps.
